THE SNOWMAN'S TURNED BLUE

24 November 1981

Words and Lyrics copyright owned by Stuart William Hagan©

He sits out in the garden

With the show that shades the lawn

He sits there crying teardrops

Because his only love has gone

CHORUS

The snowman's turned blue

'Cause he's not with you

This winter he's freezing to death

And the question that he asks

Is how long can he last

Before I breathe his very last breath

Pretty robins come around

Put thier prints in the snow

The snowman he is frozen

The robins are free to go

The snowflakes are falling

More weight upon his shoulder

The some more falls from the sky

Poor snowman, he's getting colder

The robin sits with him

All through the snows

Then comes the time of warming sun

Poor robin he's got to go

Next year he'll return again

Just to see his old friend

Did you ever see a robincry

(spoken)

Out there, and all around me

I see fields of white

Trees shining in the darkness

As their dressing reflects the moonlight

I see one tree standing tall and alone

It reminds me of me

In its bark I see a sad old face

That too, reminds me of me

There's a bed that lies empty

And I'm bewildered

Because her love is gone

CHORUS

The snowman's turned blue

'Cause he's not with you

This winter he's freezing to death

And the question that he asks

Is how long can he last

Before I breathe his very last breath

The robin, my only friend

He's been a few times before

But he is slowly growing old

Soon he won't call no more

Deserted and lonely

Still snowflakes are falling

Up in the dark blue sky

Can the stars hear me calling

Somewhere among the stars

I see my robin friend

I hear him sing he's sorry

That he cannot come again

I've lost my only friend

My robin nests in the sky

I wonder how long before I join him

Because I know I can't get by

CHORUS

The snowman's turned blue

'Cause he's not with you

This winter he's freezing to death

And the question that he asks

Is how long can he last

Before I breathe his very last breath

Before I breathe....

His very.....

Last breath......
