E
Now you’ve left me here
A B
All on my own again
E
I didn’t want to
A B
Leave you alone you know
E
I couldn’t stop myself
A B
From crying alone at night
E
Couldn’t believe it
A B
I was left behind
G C G
The truth of the unicorns
I just walked away
Without one sweet goodbye
No lonely letter
For me to read tonight
You were some fancy ghost
Scaring my fears away
I couldn’t stop myself
Recalling my joy in love
CHORUS
E A B
Remember
I saw you sail away
E A B
Remember
It was my blackest day
E A
Remember
There’s nothing to say
B E
That’s the truth of the unicorns
Guess I’m just a fool
All on his own again
I fell for you
The way that you wanted
Throughout our love affair
I built you as my Ark
And now the floods have come
It’s me who is left behind
CHORUS
Remember...
---Pause---
CHORUS
Rememeber...
ORIGIN OF THE SONG
This song has a tie-in with my novel 'The Truth of the Unicorns.' Written by me and Bill Sutter way back in 1986, I used my theme\idea from my completed story of the Unicorns to inspire a love song. It's the same old story, boy meets girl, girl thumbs a lift on the Ark, boy drowns in his own sorrow!
