Extract from Cobwebs of Pearl  ‘He got that cold feeling again and, turning his head, he looked around the garage forecourt. ‘No one there,’ he mused to himself, and then, ‘Jeez, why are you getting so jumpy on a night just because it’s windy and rainy?’ he asked himself.

The feeling was stronger this time and somehow he knew that he was not alone. ‘Nah, there’s no one there,’ he thought, but the feeling persisted and, eventually, to satisfy his own curiosity, he turned around.

Frozen in terror, he could not move as he saw a huge black head, with big eyes and massive jaws and, as his hand let go of the fuel pump, something grabbed him around his stomach, crushing him so hard that he could hardly breathe, never mind shout. Then, he was ascending up into the air, and below him he caught a brief glimpse of the car in which his wife was waiting for her ice-cream. He tried to call out to her, but he could not, for something was crushing the wind and life out of him. One of his legs broke as it was harshly hauled around the lip of the roof and, as he was dragged across the darkness, he knew that his time on this world was done.’

The Caterpillar Kingdom section has some artwork that I produced when working on the book.  I am not a brilliant artist and these were simply used to help me get a picture of a particular scene that I was writing about. Click Caterpillars and then 'Author's Artwork' to see them!

"Danny and Bongo is an exciting book of adventure and disappointments for the main character, a young boy called Danny, who does not know where he belongs.
A seagull enters his life but dies soon after, only to return as an angel, full of powers that will ensure Danny gets the adventure he craves for.
With 2 dogs for companions, they set out to rid Caterpillar Kingdom of an evil alien.
Don't think the story is for youngsters, this is definately for adults as well!
Very funny, very sad, and full of surprises!
I would recommend this book to everyone.

I am not a big reader of books and I have never finished one. But after reading truth of the unicorn you have given me inspiration to read a lot more. I was taken on a rollercoaster of emotions through this book. At times when I thought I had figured out the story another twist sent me in a completely different direction, the pictures that it painted in my mind where that of a visual masterpiece.
